A bilingual, story-driven website that unites education, e-commerce, and community for Montreal’s Valhalla Farms — transforming a regenerative vision into a living digital ecosystem.

Project Snapshot

Valhalla Farms is a regenerative agricultural cooperative based outside Montreal, Canada, devoted to sustainable farming, permaculture, and community education. The organization’s website needed to do more than inform — it had to inspire. Crosby Creative Co. designed a multilingual, content-rich website that tells Valhalla’s story of transformation from a former GMO monoculture farm into a thriving, collaborative ecosystem.

The new site serves as both an educational resource and a membership hub, combining storytelling, e-commerce, event management, and volunteer engagement in a single, cohesive experience.

The Problem

Valhalla Farms had built a passionate following, but their existing digital footprint couldn’t support their growth or mission outreach.

Fragmented content

Stories about the farm’s mission, philosophy, and projects were spread across scattered blog posts and social channels.

No e-commerce structure

Memberships, donations, and event tickets were handled manually.

Limited accessibility

The website lacked bilingual support (English/French), critical for a cooperative rooted in Quebec.

Complex message, unclear structure

Visitors were inspired by the farm’s story but found it difficult to understand how to get involved, donate, or visit.

Our Solution

Crosby Creative Co. rebuilt the Valhalla Farms website from the soil up — designing a digital ecosystem that mirrors the organization’s regenerative philosophy: interconnected, organic, and purpose-driven.

1. A Living, Narrative Design

The homepage introduces visitors to Valhalla’s story: “From the ground up — a journey in soil regeneration.” Using aerial photography, immersive textures, and natural color gradients, the design evokes the rhythm of the land itself.

Each section — Our Land, Our Food, The Market, Membership, Visit — tells a piece of the larger story, creating a seamless narrative through photography, layout, and copy.

2. Multilingual Experience

Built with WPML, the entire site is fully bilingual in English and French, with language toggles integrated into the navigation. Each translation preserves tone, pacing, and meaning — ensuring accessibility for both local and international visitors.

3. E-Commerce & Membership Integration

Crosby Creative Co. implemented a WooCommerce-driven Market allowing users to:

  • Purchase memberships or event tickets
  • Support the farm through “Pay What You Want” donations
  • Subscribe to monthly supporter plans

Custom membership tiers reflect the farm’s cooperative structure — Workers, Producers, and Supporters — reinforcing community values.

4. Event Management & Volunteer Coordination

A dedicated Events section integrates with WooCommerce for paid/free registration, and the Visit page outlines volunteer days, farm tours, and seasonal gatherings. The structure makes it easy for first-time visitors to understand how to engage in person.

5. Educational Storytelling

Beyond functionality, the site serves as a teaching tool. The Our Land and Our Food pages explain key principles like soil regeneration, permaculture, and natural building — translating complex agricultural ideas into approachable, inspiring narratives.

The Design

Results & Impact

The new Valhalla Farms website serves as both a digital headquarters and an educational hub — uniting storytelling, e-commerce, and community outreach in one cohesive platform. The site has become a vital tool for recruiting volunteers, growing membership, and sustaining the cooperative’s regenerative mission.

It captures the farm’s philosophy perfectly: cultivating not only food, but connection, collaboration, and the next generation of sustainable farmers.
